THE POWER OF TAKING OWNERSHIP OF YOURSELF

No one 'made you' cry... the way 'you' perceived and processed the other's actions, inactions or behavior, resulted in 'you' feeling hurt, angry or disappointed. Likewise, no one else 'made you' happy... the way you understood or thought of them or their actions, triggered the release of chemicals within you that made yourself feel good. This does not mean that the other person is not kind, important, disrespectful or cruel. However what it does mean is that you have the choice to allow them to bring you down, lift you up, or the choice to process unhealthy emotions and thoughts in a way that supports you and your happiness. You also have the power to walk away, or once able to leave their presence, never return. Yes, this means YOU HAVE THE POWER TO REGULATE YOUR OWN EMOTIONS BY UNDERSTANDING AND CHALLENGING YOUR OWN THOUGHTS AND REACTIONS. TIP: Instead of saying "You made me", take ownership by knowing and saying, "When XYZ' happens, I feel XYZ'... so want or would like 'XYZ" It is communicating from an awareness of self, without making the other person responsible for you, your feelings, or your reactions. It is a place of power, integrity, and strength, that does not make anyone else the victim or the persecutor, especially not yourself. Again, you hold the power to change how you feel and react. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF TO EMPOWER YOURSELF. With that said, I am wishing you a blessed and productive day ahead; one that truly exceeds all expectations.
